A tiny rabbit-hutch like clubhouse for kids- on legs n' REAL simple....

A tiny rabbit-hutch-like playhouse/mini-cabin for kids (8' long) built by Curt Lyons from Fort Collins, Colorado- this little cabin was inspired by "The Little Blue Bump"- a cabin I designed and built for a video on youtube, which was based off designs/concepts from my book "Humble Homes, Simple Shacks"- which you can check out in the right column of this blog....

A Baumraum "snap" together treehouse/treefort kit for kids

Quite a clever little kit treehouse, which fits together without nails, then is strapped/tethered to a tree trunk. It looks like this tiny playhouse is made from just a few sheets of plywood- digitally routed, I'd assume.

A one-telephone-pole treehouse in Florida

Thanks to Susy Miller, an attendee at the Tumbleweed Tiny House Workshop I taught in Miami, for sending this one- a treehouse/polehouse/platform fort shed spotted in Loxahatchee, Florida. Not sure how someone would get up in this- perhaps from a removeable ladder....

The U.B. 30 Treehouse- A treefort/tree hut shaped like an owl? spaceship? vampire?

I designed and built this one a ways back in one day, then carted it from Boston to Vermont the next (and assembled it that same day). It worked out real well, and stands as the guest shelter/tiny cabin on my property for my brother, his wife, and their son when they come up to camp out/hang....

Got scraps? Build your kids fort, treehouse, or cabin from junk wood!

"THE COCO HOUSE- just slap them woods scraps one atop another, in the pattern, or shape, you choose, glue, screw, and its coo'! (cool). This one couldn't be more simple, and its a decent playhouse, cabin, or fort idea in terms of it making use of small scrap wood that might otherwise be tossed out.

A grassy woven dock hut....a writer's retreat/relaxation escape...

Ooh....oohhh...I want one- I want one! Another simple, and great, idea that makes the most out of location. Its part Indian Hogan or Wigwam, part cave, part wattle and daub mini cabin, and all cool as heck! I included it here, as it'd make for a very nice, environmentally kind, fort/playhouse, or hideout for kids.

A kids treehouse IN a house.....

What a beautiful kids treehouse bunk/loft....the bed-box/nook idea might even work, in a fun, space saving way, in small/tiny homes as well. Rather than a loft with little or no privacy, you can close yourself into your sleep chamber at night- shuttering out SOME of the noise in the rest of your cabin as well....this would be great for cathedral ceilings.
